Pepperl+Fuchs / four-spur compact fieldbus protection
–
Begin at the field device
Identify the sensor, interface, software connection, or terminal assembly attached to R2-SP-IC4. Then compare it with the stated product scope: FieldConnex segment protector with four spur outputs, Ex ic/FISCO/Entity or Division 2 suitability, LED diagnostics, test points, and individual spur fault isolation. This avoids fitting a generic part into a loop with a different signal or fault response.
Panel-side checks
Mark power, input, output, and diagnostic terminals on the current drawing. For sensors, also record distance, output polarity, connector or cable, and environmental conditions. For software, record the operating laptop and DTM package used.
Short checklist
- Copy the complete label without shortening punctuation
- Confirm electrical and mechanical compatibility
- Check environmental, Ex, and documentation requirements
- Define the expected test result after replacement
Purchasing handover
State whether the request is for a shutdown spare, a new build, or routine stock. Include installed quantity and desired spare quantity so the supplier can return a useful availability and lead-time answer.
Close the loop
Compare the quoted model, article reference, documentation, condition, and delivery promise with the original request. Keep the official technical link with the equipment file.
Keep the record usable
Save the nameplate, drawing revision, and selected technical reference together. If the equipment duty changes, reopen the comparison instead of assuming that an existing spare remains suitable.
Site handover details
For a clean handover, list the installed tag, the cabinet or machine location, and the person responsible for the functional test. Include the date of the check and the drawing revision used. These small details help a later technician distinguish a planned replacement from an unapproved alternative and make stock records easier to audit.
- Keep the complete designation in the purchase description
- Attach the wiring or topology reference used for selection
- Record any approved setpoint, teach value, or address
- Store the test result with the maintenance history
