Pepperl+Fuchs / twelve-spur FieldConnex fieldbus protection
i
Product role
FieldConnex segment protector with 12 spur outputs, Ex ic/FISCO/Entity or Division 2 suitability, spur short-circuit isolation, diagnostics, and test access. That makes the unit a practical choice for large fieldbus segments, process skids, and Zone 2 or Div. 2 cabinets.
Selection sequence
Start with the signal or sensing requirement, then compare supply, output behavior, mounting, connection, protection, and approvals. Record the result against the exact suffix.
RFQ contents
- Complete model and article reference
- Application tag and cabinet or machine location
- Quantity, destination, and requested delivery
- Certificates, manuals, or traceability documents required
Commissioning record
After installation, test the field signal and the receiving channel. Record normal behavior, fault behavior, and any approved setting or teach value in the drawing or service report.
Substitution control
A similar housing or family name does not prove equivalence. If a substitute is proposed, compare the electrical interface, installation conditions, diagnostics, and approvals with engineering before ordering.
Keep the record usable
Save the nameplate, drawing revision, and selected technical reference together. If the equipment duty changes, reopen the comparison instead of assuming that an existing spare remains suitable.
Site handover details
For a clean handover, list the installed tag, the cabinet or machine location, and the person responsible for the functional test. Include the date of the check and the drawing revision used. These small details help a later technician distinguish a planned replacement from an unapproved alternative and make stock records easier to audit.
- Keep the complete designation in the purchase description
- Attach the wiring or topology reference used for selection
- Record any approved setpoint, teach value, or address
- Store the test result with the maintenance history
